Rivalry between Ding Liren & Gukesh Dommaraju ends as the last round of the FIDE World Chess Championship ended as a decisive round, giving the championship throne to the challenger, Gukesh D.
The game was going pretty well and it could have been a draw until the move number 55. Kf2. This move changed the complete momentum of the game and gave Gukesh the advantage of which he was waiting for. Gukesh saw that ultimate opportunity and grabbed it. And after a few moves the then world champion resigned and it held the beginning of a new dynasty in chess world.
It was indeed a phenomenal game that ended as declaring Gukesh the winner, but this round was a mix of emotions as everyone was counting it as a draw and hoping for the tie brackers. And after that one move complete scenario was changed, the entire crowd went wild. Even after the match Gukesh himself was not able to control his emotions and they flowed from the eyes.
Gukesh is now officially the Youngest World Chess Champion.
One thing happened coincidental in last year’s World Chess Championship and this year’s World Chess Championship is that in both of these WCC’s the key move was played by Ding Liren. Like this time, in the previous WCC Ding played the ultimate move by moving his rook and clinched the 17th WCC title.
LawBriefs would like to congratulate both the players for giving this marvelous tournament, and a special round of applause to Ding for the game spirit, also heartiest congratulations to the Youngest World Chess Champion; Gukesh Dommaraju
